| YouTube: Re: Paradigm Shift Metaphysics is Part of Scientific Process Sorry for the crappy, irritating mic noise! A metaphysics IS a paradigm. So its redundant to say "Metaphysical paradigm shift." Metaphysics precedes science: It shows the logical ground of scientific enquiry. MP's is the dialectical reasoning process about the nature of reality (eg, cosmology, causality, substance, notions of relation and interaction, Univsersals, Free will, etc... Science is based on metaphysical assumptions, in a sense. Science is based on a paradigm. A paradigm shift happens in science when science begins to outstrip itself, then it has to go back to the wider metaphysical view and "refresh" itself so to speak. |

But how do you wake up the scientists so they get that wider view and refresh?There hardly seems a more narrow minded group of people. It is a wonder there can be any scientific advances. Look at scientists (a generalization of course): Close minded and unaccepting of anything that has not already been scientifically proven. That would seem to be a sever limitation on any new development... you need to be free and explore! |
