Dominican style voodoo

People get scared when they hear the word "voodoo", vudu in Spanish.

Actually the name is never used. It is definitely a brand of Haitian witchcraft mainly inspired to do harm to people.

It comes from a dark past in Haitian history when the blacks slaves had to use any means to get back at the French slave masters in their fight for freedom.

Today, there is a branch of paranormal practice in the Dominican Republic that you may term "white" voodoo.

It is basically a shamanic practice. The local ingredient is that the officiant incoporates the spirit and becomes the luá himself.

They give transit to the spiritual world to manifest in this world.

These entities have a lot of power, usually for the good, and they must be made happy with gifts and presents.
